The Story Behind Wayve

We built Wayve out of frustration.

After one too many exhausting trips — dragging a suitcase through airport terminals, up metro stairs, across cobblestone streets — we asked ourselves a simple question: why do we still carry luggage the same way we did 50 years ago?

The suitcase was never designed to be carried. It was designed to be rolled. But the world isn't always flat. Stairs, escalators, metro gates, uneven streets — the moment you leave the pavement, everything becomes a struggle.

The idea.

We spent months designing, testing, and refining. We went through dozens of prototypes. We tested it in airports, train stations, and cities across Europe. The goal was simple: a harness that clips onto any hard-shell suitcase in under 30 seconds, turns it into a backpack, and actually feels good to wear.

No gimmicks. No complicated setup. No tools. Just a smarter way to travel.

Who it's for.

Today, Wayve is trusted by travelers in 40+ countries — from solo backpackers navigating Tokyo to families rushing through Charles de Gaulle. Business travelers. Weekend adventurers. People who refuse to slow down.

We're a small, independent team obsessed with one thing: making travel feel effortless.

If you've ever missed a train because your suitcase slowed you down, Wayve was made for you.
